With temperatures reaching 118 degrees, last Wednesday the 8th of August was the hottest August 8th on record in Phoenix Arizona, ever. I am a Desert Ridge realtor and I would like to share an experience I had with one of the many Desert Ridge Marketplace shops.
Even on days in Phoenix Arizona that do not reach record breaking temperatures, trying to find things to do outside of the house as a Desert Ridge homeowner, while still trying to beat the heat, often leads to a common dilemma; there is not much that comes to mind unless it is outside which of course, is not pleasant during this time of year.

To help keep this blog post shorter rather than longer, I will say only that our initial plans for my boy’s birthday did not include going to The Play Factory. In fact the plans we did have completely fell through. Heading to The Play Factory was purely a last minute decision and with only an hour left until this Desert Ridge shop was to close, there wasn’t a lot of time to over think.
So we asked The Play Factory management if they would be willing to adjust their store hours for my boy’s birthday and if they could keep their staff present to help serve the birthday party. Realizing what an important day this was for my son and his friends, and without even hesitating, the entire staff gave us the extra time we felt we needed and helped with enthusiasm to make what could have easily turned into a total flop, a birthday to remember.
Vendors like The Play Factory help explain why Desert Ridge is one of the most highly sought after real estate communities in Phoenix. Seldom have I witnessed such enthusiasm towards unconditional giving and if I were to share with other Desert Ridge home owners my thoughts about The Play Factory, I would say without doubt that this shop is a genuine Desert Ridge community asset. As a Desert Ridge realtor and a frequent visitor of the Desert Ridge Marketplace, I will continue to support their business.
Click this link to visit The Desert Ridge Play Factory website and if you are a Desert Ridge homeowner or a North Phoenix resident, show your support by taking your kids to this shop. I am sure you will have a great experience.
